Science as a whole devotes itself to coming up for different possibilities to a mystery. Since we all know that in science nothing is ever 'proven' or 'final', concordently nothing should be taught as final or conclusive. 'Nothing' includes evolution. Creationism should also be taught, within reason. It will be hard for the teachers to teach such an objective topic (as the 'process' of creationism differs from faith to faith), but it should be taught.

I am rather dumb-founded by the torrent of reproaches that greeted the inquisitive nature of Countess_Vampire. I suppose it is a cultural defect in Somalis to view any good-natured enquiry as a sacreligious and blasphemous offense. No matter. Let me offer a belated answer to the question: should creationism be taught in schools? I have no qualms with teaching creation stories, tribal myths, or societal narratives in the classroom, provided that such information is dispensed in the appropriate classroom - in religion, sociology, or anthropology classes. In other words, it would be misguided, even unethical, to impart religious dogmas in science classrooms. In the words of an estemeed plaleontologist, science and religion belong to different 'magisteriums', disparate spheres of human understanding. Science, on the one hand, is about falsifiable hypotheses, experimental analyses, and the like; religion, on the other hand, is about codes of condcut, creeds, and faith. It behooves us not to confuse the two. Let's leave it to the scientists to tell us, 'how the heavens go' and to the theologians to tell us 'how to go to heaven'.
