Ultrasound Training for Somali Doctors in Hargeisa

The mission of Afro-Asian Institute of Medical Sciences (AAIMS) Somaliland branch is to train the physicians from Somaliland and Somalia, as well as sonographers from neighboring countries in Medical Diagnostic Ultrasound and Radiological Sciences.

Course contents:
A- OBSTETRICAL ULTRASOUND-2 WEEKS 10TH-22ND APRIL 10
1) Basic physics & Instrumentation 2) Practical Demo for knobology. 3) First trimester scanning. 4) 2nd & 3rd Trimester scanning. 5) Ultrasound for ectopic pregnancy
6) Ultrasound for fetal anomalies
7) Ultrasound of twin pregnancy

B- GYNECOLOGICAL ULTRASOUND 1 WEEK 24TH -30TH APRIL 20
1) Ultrasound of uterus 2) Ultrasound of ovaries 3) How to write a report in Obgyn

C- ABDOMINAL ULTRASOUND—3 WEEKS 1ST -20TH MAY 2010
1) Ultrasound of liver 2) Ultrasound of gall bladder
3) Ultrasound of spleen 4) Ultrasound of Pancreas
5) Ultrasound of Kidneys, Urinary bladder and prostate. 6) Ultrasound of GIT 7) How to write a report in abdominal ultrasound.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA: at least MBBS

NOTES;
First come first served
Only 10 seats are available
Tuition Fee: 400$ per trainnee

FACULTY:
Mohamed Ibrahim Ali, BSc Radiology and medical imaging, MSc medical diagnostic ultrasonography.
• Certificate of participation shall be issued at the completion of the courses to those participants having 100% attendance.
