MSF-CH is seeking candidates for the post of:

MEDICAL/ HOSPITAL DIRECTOR

To support its humanitarian operations in Somalia

MSF Switzerland (MSFCH) is a humanitarian medical organization providing emergency medical aid to populations in need. At present, MSFCH operates in three project locations in Somalia: Belet Weyne, Dinsor and Mogadishu.

In Mogadishu, MSF Swiss is running a health facility with 100 bed capacity for its malnourished-severe paediatric and measles children, as well outreach activities (Nutrition, vaccination) in different locations.

Location: Mogadishu.

Start date: ASAP

Type of contract: 12 months fixed term contract with possibility of extension

Scope of responsibilities:

With the purpose of quality and continuity of care, and an efficient use of resources, he/she is responsible for:

The general coordination and management of the medical activities within the project (hospital and outreach activities)
Human resources management of staff
Monitoring and analysis of project medical activities
The Hospital director will further provide support to the Field Coordinator, and take responsibility, or support, for activities on the ground in case of extended absence.

Recruitment criteria:

Recognized medical doctor diploma/degree (plus inscription to the national register if there is one).
2 years experience as a medical doctor (technical competences validation).
1 year experience as medical doctor in charge of a hospital ward.
A minimum 1 year-experience with MSF (or 2 years experience in this function outside MSF).
Somali language and Good command of English (written & spoken) preferred.
