Title: GRAM STAINING

The Gram staining reaction is used to help identify pathogens specimens and cultures by  their Gram reactiom "Gram-positive or Gram-negative.
Gram-positive bacteria
Examples
1-Staphylococcus(e.g.Staphylococcus Aureus).
2-Streptococcus(e.g.Steptococcus pneumoniae).
3-Clostridium(e.g.Clostridium tetani).
4-Corynebacterium(e.g.Corynebacterium dipheteriae).

Gram-negative bacteria.

Examples
 
1-Neisseria(gonorrhoeae and meningitidis).
2-Haemophilus(influenza).
3-Salmonella and Shigella.
4-Klebsiella.
5-Brucella.
6-Yersinia.
7-Coliforms.
 
NB:staphylococci and Streptococci are Gram-posative, whereas Diplococci can be Gram-positive or Gram-negative.

             thank you very much for this work u have done to us ;D i am ur feild N i like to be Microbiologist 4 two yrs to come , now i am @ da 4th semester of Medical lab .........

Gram Staining is one of the very important tests used for the identification of bacteria. On the basis of their response to this stain they are called Gram positive or Gram negative. This helps a lot in proceeding further for the culture works.
