Title: Ready Reference Of German Measles (Rubella)

German Measles (Rubella).
SEASON:
Late winter and early spring.
SUSCEPTIBILITY:
Any unimmunized person.
RASH OR NON-RASH:
None in 25% to 50% of cases.
1. Sometimes: Slight fever; swollen neck glands.
2. Small (1/10 inch), flat, reddish pink spots on face.
3. Rash spreads to body, and sometimes, to roof of mouth.
CAUSE:
Rubella virus.
TRANSMISSION:
7 to 10 days before rash appears untill possibly 7 days after rash appears; via direct or droplet contact.
INCUBATION:
14 to 21 days; usually 16 to 18 days.
DURATION:
A few hours to 4 or 5 days.
CALL THE DOCTOR
if a non-immune pregnant woman is exposed.
TREATMENT:
None.
DIET:
No changes.
PREVENTION:
Immunization (MMR).
RECURRENCE:
None; one case confers immunity.
COMPLICATIONS:
Very rarely, thrombocytopenia or encephalitis.

He should eat simple food like vegetables and fruits because both have lot of vitamins carbohydrates
 and energy that are useful for our body.
