Title: Good bye Somalia!!
Post by: IsseGole on April 08, 2007, 06:42:00 PM
Does any one knows the real impacts of the bad situation of somalia on the somali poeple?
I think No one can define the exact impact, but one can imagine what is going on.
Despite of the deaths and injuries in Mogadishu, which are exceeding the numbers mentioned in the media, The diseases caused by refugees and overcrowdings are very serious. Cholera has killed more than 200 people in Shabellada Dhexe only, other states may have experienced even more. The refugees are suffering of hunger, thirst, homliness, lack of transportation, acts of piracy, different diseases, and the lack of safe places to go to. Hundreds of refugees are getting killed on daily basis in the sea between somalia and yemen.
There is a real massacre going on in somalia if not stopped before it is too late. People fleeing to kenya, ethiopia, and Yemen are not welcome. The welcome is also deteriorating in secure parts of somalia.
To tell the truth, this situation is a lot worse than the situation back in 1991. At that time, the fight was between somalis, and only one tripe was being exterminated, members of these clans could pretend to be other clans, many countries were taking refugees, and so on. But now it is between somalis and another country which has colonized the capital city and started killing every where. The world is less desiring to interfere. The situation of somalia now is a lot worse than that of Siad Barre's government. So, all that indicates the seriousness of the situation and the urge need to get peace and stability again.
The only solution of this situation, although it seems impossible according to the reality, is that the external manipulation has to stop, the troops of foreing countries has to go back to their countries. If the government will collapse when that happens, then let it be. If the country will go back to the instability and anarchy specially in mogadishu, then let it be. Who cares? The most important thing is that the antigen has to be removed from the body so the severe immune reaction to stop once.
I hope we see one day that our country is purely ours again.
