Public Health Advisor

Oxfam GB is an international non-governmental organisation that has worked in Ethiopia since 1970s. Our mission is the relief of poverty, suffering and distress. Oxfam works in humanitarian relief and development work in nearly 80 countries around the world. In Ethiopia, Oxfam works with others to help poor women and men influence decisions that affect their lives, as well as working to protect the lives and livelihoods of people living in poverty. The Addis Ababa office is the head office for the Ethiopia Programme with the project offices in Somali Regina and Benishangul Gumz. In Ethiopia Oxfam often responds to emergency humanitarian interventions both operationally and through partners, which requires additional support.

The Role

Reporting to the Senior Humanitarian Programme Manager you will strengthen Oxfam GB's capacity in public health engineering for the country, ensuring that minimum standards are met for all engineering works and quality control carried out in the country. The post of Public Health Engineering Advisor will provide overall support on the engineering aspects of the public health programme's implementation for the country programme

The Person

We are seeking for an experienced engineer development experience in a humanitarian context within an international NGO. You will have proven experience of coordinating large public health and/or WASH programmes and shows commitment to Oxfam values and beliefs.
