Title: Vitamin E Linked To Lung Cancer!!
Post by: Admin on March 02, 2008, 07:41:58 AM
According to a study published in the March issue of the American Thoracic Society’s American Journal of Respiratory and Critical Care Medicine, vitamin E can increase the risk of developing lung cancer.

The study used data on 77,126 men and women between the ages 50 and 76 from the Washington State Vitamins and Lifestyle study, examining their rate of lung cancer over four years.

The increased risk equaled seven percent for every 100 mg a day of vitamin E supplement taken. While the increased risk posed by smoking and age weren’t surprising, the link to vitamin E was.

Using vitamin supplements as a substitute for fruits and vegetables has long been controversial due to their containing not only vitamins, but also phytochemical compounds and other components whose benefits aren’t well understood.

A significant number of the vitamins you will find on the pharmacy shelves these days are made synthetically through chemical processes, rather than derived directly from plants or other materials, although some manufacturers still produce natural vitamins.

So I think this should be clearly stated??

The word "natural," like many words in the vitamin industry, has no agreed upon definition, and there is certainly no agency, either public or private, which will set standards or investigate claims.

Take my advice if you need a product which is 100% organic and 100% natural:
"You get what You need from food."Eat healthy balanced diet and leave those colored tablets!
