Title: First Cases of Pandemic H1N1 Detected in Somalia

As we all aware, nowadays there is pandemic for  influenza H1N1 in the world,  end of the last month , WHO Somalia sent to Somalia medical team to do training about the H1N1 to health worker, they started their duties in Puntland, they are  trained 25 health professionals (doctors, qualified nurses, and health surveillance workers ) to indentify suspected cases ,  they also provided the medical equipments to take sample to send Aga khan laboratory in Nairobi ,for viral culture and real time  PCR  to detect type of the virus cause influenza  .
After they left the trained professionals took sample for 10 suspected cases, and they sent to Nairobi, what do you think about the result?
3 of them where positive for H1N1!

Thanks dr.hersi for the information, we are waiting WHO official announcement.

I hope this news will not affect those going to pilgrimage this year because the vaccine is not available in the country.
