Position: Water Expert
Job site: Somalia, Afgooye Corridor
Duration: 6 months since 1th July to 31th December 2011
Report to: Project Manger
Status: Collaborator/ Full-time

Purpose/objectives:
The Water Expert is responsible for the implementation of the water construction for AID 9515 project. He/she coordinates the intervention related to the maintenance of the well, construction of the new tanks and monitor the expansion of water networks/points in Afgooye corridor. He/she is in charge to train the local community about proper utilization of the equipment provided.
Qualifications required:
1. Bachelor’s degree or higher in the Water and sanitation field. Technician Master’s preferred.
2. Three year experience managing WASH programs and initiatives, in particularly water construction, well and tanks maintenances.
3. Previous, well documented, experience with other organization working on related field (Preferred experience coordinating with International and national organizations and government authorities).
4. Three years monitoring and evaluation experience over WASH programs with the element of staff management.
5. Experience in community outreach and liaising with stakeholder.
6. Fluent in spoken and written English and Italian as advantage.
7. Stress-resilient and strong mentally to be able to cope with difficult situation, deadlines and complex problems.
8. Strong organizational, interpersonal and communications skills.
9. Computer skills, deep knowledge of Word, Exel and Outlook.
