CARE is a leading humanitarian organization fighting global poverty. Our mission is to serve individuals and families in the poorest communities in the world to escape poverty. We are looking for a seasoned, independent motivated and experienced Emergency Coordinator to join our team in Hargeisa, Somaliland.

CARE USA in Somaliland is seeking an Emergency Coordinator to provide overall leadership and direction to all emergency programs in CARE Somalia/South Sudan, including all water and sanitation programming and is responsible for ensuring all emergency programs reach their goals and objectives. The Emergency Coordinator must be experienced in donor liaison, particularly with USAID, ECHO and OFDA; proven experience in managing large, complex programs in conflict affected countries; and should demonstrate experience in emergency preparedness planning and security awareness.The Emergency program is multi-sectored and the Emergency Coordinator should have experience in working with diverse staff and numerous partners. The program has a particular emphasis in the water and sanitation sector, and experience of managing such programs is preferred. The Emergency Coordinator will be based in Hargeisa, Somaliland, with travel to project locations as security permits.
