I am currently working in somalia, in a puplic sector and I would like to test private work.
About being specialist, I prefer to get more experience before getting specialized

salam all, the first question ( are you planning to work in somalia) the answer is NO in my self i dont think i am planning to work in the somalia at this time, for what is going on there, by the way there was a time  that i was planning to work  in somalia, but everything is change now, anyway we dont know what the future is hidden for us.i hope everything is gone be allright insha allah.
the second question( are you planning to work in private or public) i like to work in private, because i like to  manage on my own way.

Salaam to all.
to start with, I am finishing my last year in medicine in Yemen.
I am planning to work in somalia, specially in the safe areas (all somalia is not peace-less dr. salwa).
But, I think, If I get other options like to stay here and work for couple of years, I dont think I will mind, all depending on the situation in somalia and the working attitudes over there.
Also, I prefer to work in private hospitals, but I dont think that is possible before the public sector. And from an ethics point of view, I beleive that public sector is better for the integrity of the doctor.
Thank you.
Ciise Dheere.

Dr.Ciise Dheere you can work privately, but in somalia to work in puplic sector is better than private for security reasons, for recently graduated doctors it's better for them to start in puplic sector to get enough experience for the situation in somalia

Aslaamu calaykum
Doctors, I think all of you are somalians, Somalia needs you, somalia needs sacrifice , somalia needs peace and most of all somalia needs help. If you didnt bring it, who will bring it, do you expect illitrate to bring it. you have to sacrifice your knowledge, time and even your life to save this war torn country.
By the way as Dr. ciise dheere pointed that all somalia is not in war , there are some places that are more peaceful than the places you live. so , why you dont go to those places . or still you are enchained by those regional borders. if they have your same language, culture, religion, color and even ambition. So, why you dont and go live there. Let me ask you question, I think all of you has only one soul , and he will lose it for one time, then why dont you lose it in a decent goal (that is if you lost it)?
If you like to life an ordinary live!! stay there, hide from wars battle feilds(but remember you can not hide forever) . but what about living an extra-ordinary life!!!!! think of it oki.

for me Inshalaah I like to work in somalia, esp in public sector, because all people cannot avoid the expense of private sectors. If you work it private sector you can get the money but you will die of it some day with out any credit. Inshalaah.

Let me remind you that your death is already planned so If you are a muslim dont try to run of it, because it will reach you, dont try to hide from it, because death will find you. Therefore, do everything to save our precious country.

I have never waited for some one to do something for me, I have no patience for that. We soma-li's must all realize that there is no one else who is going to build our country except our selves, no one else who is going to help our brothers and sisters back home devistated by floods, poverty, and disease. Just thinking about that makes me want to go back tomorrow. I have nodea what I will do when I get there but one things for sure. You have all been given a chance to go to a country where a government democracy and good health conditions are abundent. Education is the cure to all problems. You have been given this education to do what you wish. I for one will help my Somali borthers and sisters. If you had been left to die in Somalia and saw no end to war and poverty, and one day I came along with my wild ambitions, would that not alone give you hope.

Enough sounding like an over enthusiastic 16 year old... Somalia is our home plain and simple, we all wish for a great Somalia yet none of us want to make sacrifices. It isnt as if we're out there on the battle fields and it sure as hell isnt as if working in Somalia won't enable us to live comfortably, why then are non of us interested in leaving these god forsaken countries and going back home?  Anything thats worth having, is worth fighting for..Im not good with pep talks, but you get the picture.. ;)

Keep the hope alive,
Geeljire ~

Well, I think East n west the home is the best. but alot of us don't realise dat. If you ask dis question any somali proffesional the unswer will be "defenetely Yes" but truly, few people r planning to work in somalia.

I thin every1 has a vision,  it's like someone is studying to get money and someone who's studying to help his/her.

so, I would say lets help our ppl together
never give up learning

Hey, Dr. Adnan,  that was "touchy and moving".  It really makes "sense' to go back to Somalia and "do something", help those who need the most.  And guess what, that is our professional duty as Doctors.  "To help each other, w/out the fear of one another".. I'm asking Allah's help and guidance in this path.
