We are looking for: A MEDICAL AND NUTRITIONAL COORDINATOR FOR SOMALIA PROGRAMMES (M/F)

Country: SOMALIA Based in Nairobi (Kenya), managing at the start by remote control the field activities then possible travels to Somalia when security situation allows it

General objective: To contribute to the reduction of mortality and morbidity along the most vulnerable people

Responsibilities:

- Management, training and technical follow-up of related staff
- Ensure the effectiveness of the monitoring tools of the programme and to improve them if needed
- Close follow-up of food, nutrition products, drugs, medical material and NFI consumption in order to prevent field shortages
- Manage mostly through remote control programs: 3 TFCs, 16 OTP, 2 EPI centres, 1 OPD/MCH and 1 CTC (Cholera Treatment Centre) during the cholera outbreak
- Follow up of the recruitment if needed for OTP teams
- Relationships and co-ordination with international partners
- Represent AcF in relevant cluster meeting, working groups and task force
- Ensure a networking with other AcF on regional level
- Ensure regular contacts with the other NGOs
- Ensure daily contact with the teams in the field (Wajid, Dhusa Mareb, Mogadishu)
- Attend to coordination meeting in Nairobi
- Relationships with the technical departments in Paris
- Collect and analyse all information from other actors involved in nutrition and health in the country
- Monitor the nutritional situation in Somalia
- Follow up the outbreak surveillance system in order to be reactive in case of outbreak
- Follow up of requested nutrition products, drugs, medical material and NFI in collaboration with the logistic department
- Follow-up of the budget in collaboration with the co-ordination team
- Writing (compiling/validating) of the med/nut part of proposals and donor reports
- Collaborating with the country team in writing of the AcF Somalia strategy
- Collect, compile and analyse all the technical nutrition and Health reports from the AcF programmes in Somalia
- Insure that internal AcF reports and external partners are finalized in due time for distribution

Qualification and previous experience:

- Medical and Nutritional Coordinator, or qualified medical doctor or nurse
- Minimum of 2 years humanitarian experience in nutrition/ health programmes (emergency and development) and management of epidemics (Cholera will be an asset)
- Computer skills (word, excel, EPI6, SMART)
- English mandatory

- Ability to work within a fluid situation (changes within the team, location of programmes)

- Interest in involvement beyond the job i.e. active involvement in the ethos of the organisation itself
- Ability to integrate into the local environment including awareness of political and economic aspects of the country

Professionalism and Management:
- Ability to conduct work in a professional and mature manner
- Ability to deal with relation with local authorities as a representative of Action contre la Faim
- Ability to manage local staff in a mature and impartial manner

Length of contract: 1 year

Status:

Employee:
- Fixed-term contract
- All expenses paid in the field: travel out/return, collective or individual accommodation depending on position and family, meals and hygiene expenses
- Ability to take in charge accompanied position depending on position
- Monthly salary ranging from €1550 to €1950 gross depending on the position and experiences + Allowance of €200 net paid on the mission
- Social security, complementary health, repatriation insurance and contribution to a pension
- Purchase of 2.08 days off per month
- 20 RTT per year
- Training of 2 to 3 weeks, achieved in Paris before leaving on mission
