MSF-CH is an international medical humanitarian organization with projects in Somalia.

Job Profile:

Function: Deputy Medical Coordinator

Direct supervisor: Medical Coordinator

Location: MSF-CH office in Nairobi, with frequent field visits to Somalia

Responsibilities:

Working under and reporting to the Medical Coordinator, the successful candidate will be responsible for supporting and assuming medical coordinators role in her/his absence, with special emphasis on the project cycle, leading the medical team and witnessing.

Other responsibilities will include:

Detailed analysis and reporting on the health and nutrition situation throughout Somalia.
Upon request represent MSF-CH in various meetings, in Nairobi and in the field
Responsible for health and health policies of both the national and international staff
Management of medical human resources

Recruitment criteria:

Medical Doctor or Clinical Officer, registered with the respective Kenyan professional body.
Minimum 2 years experience related to the diploma
Previous MSF or other NGOs experience working in Somalia.
Management experience / Basic epidemiological background
Public health competencies
Fluent in spoken and written English. Somali language is an added advantage.
Computer literate
