Any Idea if your friends' husband become HIV +ve?

(1/1)

Coletpaolo:
You have a patient in the ward diagnosed with HIV and he happen to be your friend's husband. Your patient ask you not to disclose this information to your friend. As a nurse, you know well of the law protecting the right of HIV/AIDS victims including the right to confidentiality. At the same time, you are bothered of the risk it may bring to the public particularly to the wife who remains unaware of her husband's condition. What is your position in the ethical dilemma but respecting the patient's right to confidentiality and protecting your friend by disclosing the information to her.

PrincessMuni:
its taugh really... but if he is already her husband so she might also got the virus.
i think telling is not an option but you can discuss it with the victim himself.
or if she is one of your family or best friend and you're worried about her, then i guess you might think of telling him Either you tell her the truth or stay away from her and if you go near her again then i'll tell her.
but anyways its all hard.
Good luck with that!
