I NEED HELP PLZ!

(1/1)

Carlz:
Slamu Alykumm

I have come across this question while reading some practice questions for an essay and I would like an opinion of what the pathology could be.

A patient is present with recent weight gain, insufficiency fractures of vertebrae and ribs, a hoarse voice (new symptom) and a mass in the left hilar region of the lung.

I much appreciate any help :)
Thanks

Admin:
Paraneoplastic Syndromes

Recent weight gain is due to endocrine changes (cushing syndrome)
Insufficiency fractures of vertebrae and ribs are due to bone changes (hypertrophic osteoarthropathy)
Hoarseness of voice may be due to metastasis from the lung cancer to the larynx or due to hormonal changes in case of hypothyroidism.
Mass in the hilar region of the lung due to carcinoid lung tumor

Thanks
