Job Profile
To ensure that the modified Community-based Therapeutic Care nutrition programme operates effectively and efficiently to deliver optimal care to the beneficiaries
Key Accountabilities
•Assist clinicians in the management of patients with moderate and severe malnutrition
•Participate in community based nutrition surveillance programme
•Build capacity of community health workers in identification and referral of people with nutritional deficiencies to the health units
•Organise a programme for community based nutrition education and promotion

Job Purpose:
To ensure the delivery of high quality emergency nutrition support, including Community-based Management of Acute Malnutrition (CMAM) and promotion/support for optimal infant and young child feeding, among the IDP communities of Puntland for the ECHOs’ Emergency Child Survival Support to Crisis Affected Populations in Puntland Region of Somalia
Key Accountabilities
•Plan and lead appropriate assessments of nutrition needs and capacities in target areas, including nutrition surveys. Analyse assessment data and synthesise findings in the form of concise and timely reports with clear recommendations
•Support the development and implementation of a clear action plan for the nutrition team to address the needs and build on existing capacities in coordination with other relief efforts
•Support/ lead the team of nutrition workers to continually provide
- Appropriate assessment of infant feeding practices
- Appropriate counselling for mother/child pairs in line with international guidelines
- Comprehensive screening, referral and follow-up for cases of acute malnutrition at community level
- Treatment services for acute malnutrition, including outpatient and inpatient according to national and international protocol
- Other food and non-food items as appropriate to various target groups
•Ensure accurate and timely monitoring of nutrition programme activities and outcomes and establish mechanism to ensure data quality
•Regularly review and use monitoring data to promptly inform and adjust programme implementation as needed to better serve the target beneficiaries
•Estimate, request and follow-up procurement of material needs for programme from appropriate sources (e.g. RUTF, nutrition equipment, other supplies)
•Represent SC at coordination meetings and with other partners, as requested
•Integrate other programme components (e.g. wat/san, health) with the nutrition intervention as appropriate
•Regularly supervise and provide on-the-job training for SC and MoH staff and local partners at facility and community level.

Job Purpose
The Community Mobilizers will help to achieve the successful implementation of both health and nutrition component areas of the Emergency Child Survival Support to Crisis Affected Populations in Puntland Region of Somalia.
Key Accountabilities:
1. Network with local community organizations, NGOs, and the local government bodies, to elicit their cooperation and participation in the development and implementation of the nutrition and health program activities.
3. Ensure that community mobilization efforts are carried out in a participatory and coordinated manner
4. Assist in the identification of best practices, acceptable standards, and guidelines in Community Mobilization
5. Work with project management to maintain up-to-date work plans, budgets, and progress reporting for prioritized activities
6. Develop with team members under her/his supervision clear plans of action and specific strategies
Person Specification
1. A strong understanding of community dynamics and general development principles including principles of participation.
2. At least 3 years' experience in strategic planning for and implementing community mobilization projects based on relevant participatory research initiatives

Job purpose
The Logistics Assistant (pharmacy) is responsible for assisting with the routine operations in ensuring that it works with and delivers efficient and effective logistics support to the the health and nutrition programmes in Puntland
Key Accountabilities
- Deliver the timely and effective routine functions of the logistics in the Emergency Child Survival Support to Crisis Affected Populations in Puntland Region of Somalia project in accordance with SC policies and guidelines.
• To undertake and cover specific areas of Logistics activities identified below, to support the maintenance of an effective field office logistics function.
• To co-ordinate the supply of goods and logistics support for project, including requisitioning, receiving, storing, issuing and processing payment for goods in accordance with SC policies and guidelines.
• To advise field logistics teams on logistic procedures, to ensure compliance with donor regulations and follow up on non-compliance issues under the guidance of the Logistics Coordinator
• To accurately maintain the supplier database.
• To accurately maintain the logistic filing systems ensuring rigorous adherence to logistic process’.
• To ensure smooth communication, advice and technical support to the logistics coordinators and the teams in the field.
• To work with the Programmes department to ensure close integration of logistics planning in field operations, including input to donor reports and assist with the review of the logistic component of proposals.
Person Specification
Qualifications, experience and competences
• Some relevant experience of working in humanitarian relief /development sector in a logistics or other related programme support role.
• Good demonstrable experience of undertaking a wide range of humanitarian logistics activities including specifically in the area of medical supplies
• Good experience of rigorously adhering to detailed procedures.
• Strong communications skills, with excellent verbal and written English.
• Good problem solving ability with proven analytical skills.
• Experience of establishing strong and constructive working relationships with colleagues from different functions, organisations and cultures.
• Experience of working and participating effectively as part of a team.
• Experience of a flexible approach to managing and prioritising a high workload and multiple tasks in a fast paced environment with tight deadlines.
