Trocaire Horn & East Africa Regional Office (HEARO) seeks to fill the following position in its Somalia Country Programme.

Trocaire is an Irish Catholic development organization, which works in solidarity with local development actors in over 30 countries throughout the developing world.

Community Health Support Officer

The position:

Based in Mandera with regular periodic travel to Gedo Somalia as permitted by security

The post holder will work with the technical team in Mandera to support the Gedo Health Programme at the community level.

S/he will be responsible for the training and support of the community health workers, the Village Health Committees and support the implementation and reporting of the community level malaria management.

S/he will report to the Primary Health Coordinator and work in collaboration with the other team members.

Competencies:

# Must have a medical qualification with community health.
# A minimum of 3 years experience with NGOs is required, preferably in the field of community health.
# S/he must be a Somali speaker.
# Good computer, analytical and report writing skills needed.

Terms & Conditions: The contracts is for 1 year, with the possibility of renewal.
