<< < (4/4)

Dick22:
I usually read detective books in my leisure time. I just love it very much other than reading medical books.

Ifrah A:
Hi. I truly love reading like many of you do, and I agree that its hard, but we need to make the time.
Author, Dr. Paul Farmer is an award-winning medical anthropologist who spent two decades working in Haiti. His book 'Pathologies of Power: Health, Human Rights, and the New War on the Poor' is one of my favorite books. book review: http://www.yalereviewofbooks.com/archive/summer03/review15.shtml.htm

An author that I met in person when she came to campus was Mary Roach.
She is a popular science writer who weaves humor into her book: 'Stiff: The curious Lives of Human Cadavers.'
Another great book I read, for those that like to learn something new, is called 'The family that couldn't Sleep: A medical Mystery' by D T Max.
This book deals with all of the prion diseases before they were known very well. The book is written like other mystery books so, be prepared to be completely engrossed and fascinated with the stories. link to a review of the book: http://www.bioscience.heacademy.ac.uk/journal/vol12/beej-12-r2.aspx
   I'll add more soon.
