Anatomy of the Female Genital Organs
Female genital organs are divided into
A-   Internal Genital organs:-
1-   Vagina 2-Uterus 3-Ovaries
B-   External Genital organs:-
1-   Mons pubis 2-Labia majora 3-Labia minora 4-clitors 5-and vaginal vestibule.
                          External Genital organs:-
1-   Mons pubis:-
•   Rounded eminence infront of  (pubic Symphysis)
•   Formed subcutaneous fat
•   At puberty it become hairy
2-   Labia Majora:-
•   two bulky folds of skin enclose the Pudendal Cleft
•   extend from the mons pubis to the perineal body
•   they covered with coarse hair
3-   Labia Minora:-
•   two flat fold of skin
•   lie medial and deep to labia majora
•   connected infront and behind the clitoris by thin folds called prepuce and frenulum respectively
•   posteriorly they fuse infront perineum
4-   viginal Vestibule:-
•   is the cleft between the labia minora
•   receives the vaginal orifice (Introitus) the urethral orifice and the duct of greater vestibular (Bartholin) glands
•   The vagina is normally closed by the hymen in virgin (before the first sexual intercourse).
5-   Clitoris:-
•   homologous with the penis (2.5cm) long
•   consists of two cylinders of erectile tissues called corpora cavernous
•   has prepuce and gland clitoris
•   rich blood supply.
                             Internal Genital organs:-
1-   Vagina:-
•   female organ of copulation
•   fibro muscular tube (7.5cm )in long and (4cm)in wide
•   extends from the uterine cervix above to the hymen below
•   it’s posterior wall is longer than it’s anterior wall
•   related anteriorly to the base of bladder and urethra
•   posteriorly related to recto-uterine pouch rectum and perineal body
2-   Uterine tube:-
•   muscular tube (10cm long)
•   extends from the junction of the fundus and body of uterus to the lateral wall of the pelvis
•   consists 4parts:- 1-Intramural part 2-Isthmus 3-ampulla 4-and infundibulum.
3-   Ovaries:-
•   in the young female adult
•   falttend ovoid organ (3X2X1cm)(HxWxDcm).
•   Situated in the lateral wall of the true pelvis
•   Attached by the ligament of uters
•   Divided into an outer cortex and inner medulla
•   The cortex consists of fibrous tissues separating the developing (Graafian) follicle
•   The medulla is vascular layer contain:-
-Blood Vessels -Nerves –and lymphatics.
