11 years old afebrile child presented with painful & fluctuating flat mass on the chest wall which is around 7.8 cm.
FNA showed milky fluid with +ve AFB.
No informative past history apart from multiple neck masses which were oozing pus but healed spontaneously.

Questions:
1- What is your diagnosis?
2- How do you explain this condition?
3- What is your next step to manage this case?
4- What is the effective treatment?

Ok let me put in my inexperienced 2cents,lol.ahem...The diagnosis is tuberculous abscess also knwn as cold abscess.the child is afebrile because fever is not a sign of TB.n thus da name cold abscess becoz it doesnt hv a temperature elevation as other abscess do.this abscesses form as a result of weakened immunity due to malnutrition etc n usually is common in children n old ppl.(management)briefly,1st thing is to drain the abscess,then put the child on antituberculous therapy together vitamin B.also advice proper nutrition n hygiene.i think definite treatment would be proper intake of medicine n drainage./sorry i cudnt separate the text coz am writin frm mobile.there is my rough answer bt nonetheless an answer
