GFR can increase due to Hypoproteinemia because of the reduction in plasma oncotic pressure.
GFR can also increase due to constriction of the efferent arteriole due to High blood pressure.
GFR regulation depends on the person's age, sex & physiological status as pregnancy increase dramatically the GFR.

Hi,

A little question, why is acute and chronic renal failure always associated with low GFR when I can see that there are cases with high GFR such as high blood pressure, diabetes, and physiological cases e.g pregnancy?

Kind regards,
Em
