Title: Research or Community service

Salam,
I am a first year med student in the states and about to finish my first year!!! YAY! anyhow, I was wondering if anyone had thoughts on what is better looked upon for residency as far as summer plans go.....either research or community service.

community service can be turned as a learning point. But it depends on your interests.
