Fundraiser for relief efforts in Somalia- July 23rd - Minneapolis

Dear friends and colleagues,

You are cordially invited to attend a fundraiser to benefit the victims of the recent drought crises in Somalia on:

Saturday July 23rd at 4-8pm at Safari Restaurant & Banquet Hall located at 3010 Fourth Ave. South, Minneapolis, MN, 55408

This will be an open event for all communities and the donations will be based on what anyone can afford though even $10 will feed a family of four for a week and $100 will feed a family of six for 6 weeks.

This is an excellent opportunity to speak with members of various communities who are doing social justice work, as well as some of the most famous Somali musicians, Somali artists (cartoonists “Amin Amir), and other Somali and non Somali professionals as well as community members.

In view of the recent drought crises in Somalia, we have taken on the responsibility of arranging a fundraising event. The proceeds collected at this event will be sent to the victims of the drought in Somalia.

These proceeds will be used to purchase food and much-needed survival supplies, as well as support current feeding centers and possibly open more feeding centers in the most affected areas in Somalia. There will be NO administrative costs and NO other overhead costs. Please feel free to share this event information and email me back if you plan to attend.
