INTERNAL AND EXTERNAL VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT: AUXIALIARY NURSE (EPI/NUT) GOLOLEY

Médecins San Frontières Spain is currently recruiting for position of auxiliary nurse (EPI/NUT) based in Gololey.
MSF-Spain has been running continuous operations in Somalia since 1992. MSF-Spain currently operates two projects in South Central Somalia: Jowhar/Middle Shabelle and Mogadishu. The Mogadishu project is currently running 3 health facilities and mobile activities (OPD/IPD, vaccination and nutrition activities) in 4 districts of the capital. The Jowhar/Middle Shabelle project currently comprises of 6 health structures (maternity, OPD/IPD, TB, vaccination and nutrition activities) in 2 districts.
MAIN OBJECTIVE OF POSITION
• Prepare and deliver of therapeutic food for the beneficiaries of the TFC.
• Ensuring the intake of the prescribed TF by the Children in the Programme.
• Responsible for prescription of RTUF, monitoring and daily observation of children in the programme.
• Encourage breast-feeding in any pertinent case.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS
General Knowledge of MSF and Safety at work: cooperates with colleagues/other departments, respecting medical ethics, procedures in place and health and safety rules
Measurements and Documentation: ensure corrects checks, documentation and information on admissions and throughout treatment, reporting and problems to the supervisor
Nutritional Care: ensure TF supply; report patient progress and support mothers in good feeding techniques
Medical Care and Monitoring: monitor patient condition and report to supervisor any concerns in line with MSF procedure
Hygiene and Health Educations: ensure work area remains clean, check drinking water is available and participate in providing health education sessions for patients
REQUIREMENTS
Education : • Formal or informal Training in Nursing aid, Nutrition or similar course
Experience MSF and Other : • Experience with MSF is desirable
• Knowledge of MSF nutritional protocol is desirable
Languages : • Somali language essential, English desirable
Personal Qualities : • Good communication skills
• Good professional discipline.
• Be flexible and willing to work within a team.
• Interest in and commitment to MSF’s activities, enthusiasm to represent MSF to others.
• Confident and skilful communicator, pleasant and polite attitude at all times, respected member of the community
