Nutrition Specialist, L-3, Hargeisa, Somalia

If you are a passionate and committed professional and want to make a lasting difference for children, the world's leading children's rights organization would like to hear from you. UNICEF seeks a Nutrition Specialist, L-3 to be based in its Office in Hargeisa, Somalia.

Under the guidance of ACSD manager and Chief of ACSD and Nutrition in USSC, responsible for the planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of assigned programme/project(s) within Nutrition sector, and ensuring integration with other relevant sectors.

Your profile:
• Advanced degree in nutrition, epidemiology or public health with demonstrated experience in emergency nutrition
• At least five years experience in international nutrition activities with in-depth knowledge and experience in designing and implementing public nutrition interventions in the priority areas, experience in conducting rapid and statistical survey, analysis and interpretation of results in public nutrition, experience in technical coaching/capacity development of support and local technical staff, contextual analysis of nutrition matters and team leadership experience.
• Knowledge of the latest developments and technology in related fields
• Analytical, negotiating, communication and advocacy skills
• Supervisory and managerial skills
• Leadership and teamwork abilities
• Computer skills, including internet navigation and various office applications
• Demonstrated ability to work in a multicultural environment and establish harmonious and effective working relationships, both within and outside the organization.
• Fluency in English and another UN language required. Knowledge of the local working language of the duty station (Somalia) is an asset.
