   DROUGHT EMERGENGY IN HORN OF AFRICA – HUMAN RESSOURCES NEEDED ASAP

The serious food crisis currently hitting the Horn of Africa is affecting millions of people while malnutrition rates are exploding. Nearly 10 million people are suffering directly from the consequences of the serious food crisis currently hitting the region of Ethiopia, Djibouti, Somalia and Kenya: lack of food, decimated livestock, difficult living conditions because of the prolonged draught... A significant number of the local population has still not recovered from the previous years of draught. These are the driest years the region has known since 1950.

In this humanitarian emergency context, we are looking for project managers and program coordinators (M/F) having already worked on the ground in the following areas:

Nutrition (Ref : 07 URG NUT)
Mental health (Ref: 07 URG PSY)
Logistics (Ref : 07 URG LOG)
Water, sanitation and hygiene (Ref : 07 URG WASH)
Food security (Ref : 07 URG FS)
Monitoring and Evaluation / Proposal Writing (Ref : 07 URG CSE)
Skills and experience: - Nutrition: diplomatic and people skills - analytic and concise qualities - logistics skills (stocking, transporting, quality controling) - experience of issues linked with humanitarian situations - Mental health: clinical pyschology degree - experience in sensitive and unstable environments - knowledge of psychology in humanitarian context - analytic and proposal writing skills - Water, sanitation and hygiene : hydrolic engeneer, hydrologist, hydrogeologist, advanced knowledge in water and sanitation - logistics: logistician, logisitc coordinator, knowledge in humanitarian logistics, field experience needed For all positions, the knowledge and practice of English is necessary, as well as computer skills and humanitarian experience.

Status: Volunteer status for applicants with less than 24 months of humanitarian experience - Fixed-term contract of 1 year, renewable - All expenses paid on the field: travel out/return, collective accommodation, meals and hygiene expenses - €838 of indemnities per month on your bank account + Allowance of €200 per month paid on the mission - Social benefits: Medical, life and accident insurance provided by the institution - Acquisition of 2.5 days of paid leaves per entirely worked month - Recovery time breaks of one week every 2 or 4 months depending on the mission + break allowances - Pre departure training of two weeks, at the HQ in Paris Program Managers with at least 24 months of humanitarian experience, Coordinators and Heads of Mission - Long-term contract, provided by ACF according to the French legislation. - All expenses paid on the field: travel out/return, collective or individual accommodation depending on position, meals and hygiene expenses - ACF will pay for the family living depending on position and mission - Program Managers: Monthly salary ranging from €1500 to €1875 (depending on relevant experience) - Allowance of €200 paid on the mission - Social benefits: Medical, life and accident insurance provided by the institution - 25 days of annual paid leaves - 20 days of extra leaves per year (taken as recovery time breaks of one week every 2 or 4 months depending on the mission) + break allowances - Pre departure training of two weeks, at the HQ in Paris
