Role: Emergency Health Coordinator
Contract: 12 months contract
Role Purpose
Emergency Health Coordinator is responsible for the overall coordination, facilitation and management of the emergency health programme in Central South Somalia and Puntland.
S/He will supervise field health staff (Emergency project managers, District Health Officers, health staff).
S/he will coordinate with the Nutrition and WASH sectors for integrated delivery of health, nutrition and WASH interventions.
S/he will be responsible for external representation in the region and maintaining regular contact with relevant stakeholders as appropriate.
Person specification
Health professional with relevant qualification in medicine, nursing (Masters in Public Health is preferred).
At least 5 years experience in similar role with substantial relevant experience in emergency Health program management.
Previous experience in coordinating, implementing and managing complex health programs with INGO’s in developing countries and/or refugee settings and experience in situation analysis, health assessments and program implementation.
Role: Emergency Food Security Livelihoods (EFSL) Coordinator
Contract: 12 months contract
Role Purpose
The Food Security & Livelihoods Co-ordinator’s main role is to provide direction on implementation of livelihoods activities at community level and ensuring that relevant technical inputs are provided with quality and relevance achieved in implementation of the livelihoods operations plan.
To implement Save the Children’s livelihoods interventions (including cash-for-work and cash grant activities), ensuring appropriate technical standards are respected and to participate in and lead HEA assessments.
The functions of the role will require Emergency FSL Programme Oversight (70%) and Representation and Coordination (30%).
Person specification
Post-graduate degree or other relevant discipline in social science, urban/rural livelihoods.
At least 5 years experience in Food Security & Livelihoods.
Substantial relevant experience in emergency program management.
Proven experience in Cash Programming.
Demonstrated experience managing complex operations in an INGO or development context.
Demonstrated experience in managing partnerships with NGOs / CSOs and government.
Demonstrate experience in disaster response and livelihoods work.
Good understanding of livelihoods concepts and issues in development context.
